Películas de niños/Kid’s movies

Mi papá siempre se rie de mi porque como 7 de cada 10 veces que me ve viendo una película, resulta que veo alguna de niños o adolescentes. Yo soy bien tevita, prácticamente he peinado el tvcable completo y he visto casi todo lo que dan; y aunque no soy nada de sabionda en el tema cinéfilo he descubierto que con las películas de niños son con las que más gozo. Claro que mis películas preferidas, de esas BUENAS (con mayúscula), no suelen ser para niños, porque bueno, hay razonamientos y temáticas que no entenderían.
Yo creo que me gustan porque no tienen mayores pretensiones, buscan entretener y de pasadita dejar alguna moraleja (a ver si los niños la procesan inconscientemente y se convierten en mejores adultos jejeje); nada peor que esas películas con grandes actores y harta publicidad, y cuando llega la hora de los «quihubo» no están ni a la mitad de la altura que se esperaba de ellas.
En general las películas de Pixar son buenísimas, gozan niños y los adultos que los acompañan, aunque bueno, desde hace ya varias películas que eso ya no es novedad (by the way…que onda lo buena de Up!!).
Acabo de ver el trailer de una película basada en un libro que se llama «Where the wild things are», dirigida por Spike Jonze y me muero de ganas que sea Octubre para poder verla; yo creo que la canción de The Arcade Fire, Wake Up, ayuda a que uno se emocione, pero igual quiero verla. Sólo espero que no sea otra más de la larga lista que promete y no cumple. Dejo el trailer.

My dad always laughs at me because 7 out of 10 times he catches me watching a movie, it turns out it’s a kid’s or teen movie. I watch a lot of TV, I practically know the cable by heart, and I’ve seen almost everything; and although I’m no instructed movie critic, I’ve decided kids movies are the ones I enjoy the most, by far. Of course my favorite movies, the really GOOD ones (yes, capital letters), are not the ones for kids, because, well, they can’t fully get some stories.

I think I like them because they are not pretentious, their main goal is to entertain, and while they’re at it, leave a life lesson (maybe the kids will process it at a subconscious level and become better adults thanks to it). I hate those movies with big publicity and actors, but when the time of truth comes they can’t meet the expectations they have created. Most of the time Pixar movies are great, kids love them, and so do the grown-ups that take them; but that’s no big news these days (by the way…Up was soooo good!)

I just saw the trailer of a book-inspired movie called «Where the wild things are», it’s directed by Spike Jonze and I can’t wait for October when it’s released. I guess the song of the trailer («Wake up» by The Arcade Fire) helped a lot in  getting me all emotional, but I still want to see it. I just hope it’s not another of those movies that can’t live to the expectations. Hope you like the trailer.
